Reconfigurable Systems for Space Applications

This course provides an introduction to FPGA technologies and reconfigurable computing, with a focus on aerospace and space applications. Topics covered include the architecture of modern FPGAs and reconfigurable Systems-on-Chip (SoCs), hardware description in VHDL, the AMD Vivado design workflow, hardware/software co-design on AMD Zynq platforms, and the challenges of deploying reconfigurable hardware in radiation environments. Students will gain hands-on experience through laboratory sessions using real FPGA hardware.
